Community Resources
Below are examples of vision (organizational goal) and mission (how the goal is accomplished) statements directly from local organization websites. If not already partners with MHCR, these organizations would be great options to invite collaboration for your/their next community events; contact them, asking to speak with the event or operations manager. Make sure to offer the resources you have– including volunteers– for their next events to build relationships and networks.
Mars Hill Arts Center

It houses pottery, floral design, and craft studios, in addition to an activity space. The Mars Hill Arts Center also offers space for gatherings and special events at an affordable rental cost. The meeting room space can serve as a training venue and the arts center offers art and yoga as part of a corporate training experience. Indy Hunger Network’s (IHN)
Indy Hunger Network’s (IHN) mission is to ensure that anyone who is hungry can access the food they need. Our organization was created in 2009 to unify a network of hunger relief partners as well as coordinate the movement towards a cohesive system that works to end food insecurity in central Indiana. In 2015, Gleaners’ Board leadership and other caring community leaders made it possible to build a pantry adjacent to Gleaners’ warehouse. The Community Cupboard is a model for other hunger relief agencies, implementing best practices and innovative services designed to not just feed the hungry, but serve with dignity and respect. Converted to a drive-thru model during the pandemic, neighbors can receive a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, protein, dairy, and other items from the comfort of their cars, loaded by community volunteers.
